Weymouth Cultural Landscape Report, Part II

STACH was engaged to envision the future of one of the NC Sandhills region’s most significant cultural landscapes. Connected in purchase and intention, Weymouth encompasses: the early and ongoing land conservation efforts by the Boyd family to save an old growth pine forest; the planned leisure grounds and public spaces of the Boyd estate; the seat of NC equestrian sport; and the landscape that inspired one of North Carolina’s prominent literary figures. STACH led a series of investigative efforts to identify patterns of use, visitor experience and perception of the Weymouth grounds. This analysis was utilized to establish a program for Weymouth house and grounds based on its authentic past. Landscape management protocols developed in concert with GBDB.
